1-to-1 FOOD STYLING & PHOTOGRAPHY TRAINING, JULY 2020

After several emails and dashed hopes of working together I was thrilled when Lynne and I finally booked a training session together.

Lynne already shoots for a living but her photography is people rather than food based and she wanted to broaden her skills to follow her passion for food writing and cook books.

THE BRIEF.

1-to-1 training day to help Lynne turn her hand to food styling and photography in preparation for a book she's working on around food producers and creatives.

As Lynne's book will be farm-to-fork focused we did a lot of work around produce and provenance, looking at lighting, styling composition and camera functions for raw food, creating magical light and food styling that makes a lasting impression.

CLIENT FEEDBACK.

"I came to Sophie’s beautiful home for a one day food photography styling training session in July and it was absolutely brilliant. Sophie has a lovely nature and I felt immediately comfortable with her.

We talked about the type of style I wanted to create with my images and the different types of food photography there are and then went on to work on five or six different sets of food and props.

She has lots of invaluable little tips that will come in very handy and also explains everything very well so you really take it in, explaining all the different elements and how they work together, or don’t. Things to aim for and what to avoid. A lovely bonus was after we did one of the shoots, we got to eat the yummy produce!

I really enjoyed the day I spent with Sophie and would highly recommend her to anyone else who is looking to learn about styling food and photographing it.

I left her house full of excitement and energy to get back home and start photographing my own creations.'
